    Summary

Aberdeen's driver page clearly flags the HMRC tax check requirement from 2 October 2023 — your application will be bounced if you do not do the online tax check first and provide the code. All taxis and private hire cars must be licensed under the 1982 Act. The fee appendix easiest to find online is a historic "Licensing Fees Appendix 2B" which is not current; 2025-26 fees are not clearly displayed on the main driver page. Appeals go to the sheriff court.
