1. What GigKiln is

GigKiln is a free guidance website for UK gig economy workers — drivers, riders and couriers on Uber, Deliveroo, Amazon Flex, Just Eat, Stuart, Bolt and similar platforms. We publish guides, tools, templates and editorial commentary based on UK law and primary research.

The site is published by Kiln Guides Ltd (UK company registration in progress). FTJ Designs (a UK sole trader operated by founder Scott Jones) remains the registered data controller for site personal data — see our privacy policy.

2. What GigKiln is NOT

• We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice.
• We are not an accountant or tax adviser.
• We are not a financial adviser or FCA-regulated intermediary.
• We are not a trade union or worker representative body.
• We are not an insurance broker or comparison site.

Everything on the site is general information. Verify with a qualified professional before acting on anything with legal, tax or financial consequences. See our disclaimer for the full version.

3. Permitted use

You may read, link to, share, and quote short extracts from GigKiln content for personal, editorial or educational use. Press citations are welcomed — please credit "GigKiln" with a link to the source page.

Bulk scraping, republishing entire guides, training AI models on the corpus without permission, or reverse-engineering the calculation logic in our tools is not permitted.

4. Tools and calculators

Our calculators give estimates based on the inputs you provide and the law as we understood it on the last review date shown. They are not personalised tax, legal or benefits advice. Figures may be wrong, out of date or inapplicable to your circumstances.

5. Submissions

When you send us a story, correction or press enquiry, you confirm the content is your own (or you have permission to share it) and you grant us a non-exclusive licence to publish, edit and anonymise it for editorial use, in line with the consent boxes you tick on the form.

6. Sponsors

Some pages carry paid placements clearly labelled "Paid placement". Sponsors fund the site but do not approve content. See our editorial code for the full policy.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GigKiln, Kiln Guides Ltd, FTJ Designs and Scott Jones accept no liability for loss or damage arising from reliance on the information published on this website. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by UK law.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the bottom of this page shows when it was last reviewed. Continued use of the site after changes counts as acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. The courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
