Methodology
This tool assumes:
- FCA's motor finance review covers regulated consumer credit agreements between 6 April 2007 and 1 November 2024.
- Discretionary commission arrangements (DCAs) — where the broker/dealer set the rate and earned more from a higher rate — are the primary mis-selling concern.
- Consumer Credit Act 1974 regulated agreements have an upper limit of £25,000 for some protections (varies by date and agreement type).
- Business-use vehicle finance can fall in scope where the agreement was a regulated consumer credit agreement to an individual or small partnership.
- Eligibility here is indicative — actual scope and redress methodology will be set by the FCA's final rules.
