National Minimum Wage shortfall check

This tool assumes:

• From 1 April 2025: National Living Wage (21+) £12.21/hr; 18-20 £10.00/hr; under 18 / apprentice £7.55/hr.
• NMW only applies to 'workers' or 'employees' — Aslam confirms Uber drivers are workers; status varies by platform.
• Calculation uses total time available for work (log-on time), not just engaged time, when worker status applies.
• Tips and service charges do not count toward NMW.
• Vehicle running costs and platform fees the worker bears are deducted from gross earnings before the NMW comparison.
